Last March, Open Cloud Factory and NexTReT jointly organized an event focused on the implementation of EMMA in public administration. The event also had the collaboration of the National Cryptological Center and the Castellón Port Authority, who acted as host and protagonist of the event.
The event was attended by about fifteen public administrations from the Valencian Community to learn about the current state of cybersecurity and understand the importance and need for all organizations to become aware of it.
The event featured various speakers, including Salvador Sánchez, Director of Business Development and Partnerships at Open Cloud Factory, Juan Carlos Galán, Information Security Manager at the Port Authority of Castellón, and Jordi Torruella, Managing Partner at NexTReT Cybersecurity.
Salvador Sánchez, emphasized the importance of having national cybersecurity tools, likening it to the need for Spanish vaccines during the pandemic in order to not depend on other countries.
An overview was given of the main benefits offered by EMMA, including total network visibility, access control, network segmentation, and the establishment of secure VPN connections, not forgetting its contribution to regulatory compliance.
Juan Carlos Galán reviewed in his speech the implementation process of EMMA from the beginning of the pandemic until now, three years later.
The presentation by the Port Authority of Castellón was very interesting for the attendees, as they could relate to the story and hear about the perceived benefits of the solution from the client’s perspective.
Jordi Torruella provided a detailed explanation of the National Security Framework (Esquema Nacional de Seguridad, ENS), highlighting the contributions of EMMA to it and the measures that need to be followed to achieve compliance. He also emphasized the importance of having a certified partner at a high ENS level, such as NexTReT, to ensure an optimal level of security.
