CEPSA simplifies the management of your files with GoAnywhere MFT

CEPSA is an international energy company with more than 10,000 professionals and more than 80 years in the market.

The company carries out activities of exploration and production of oil, refining, distribution and commercialization of its derivatives, in addition to working in the petrochemical, gas and electricity sectors.

Fourth Spanish industrial group in turnover, over the years CEPSA has become a benchmark in the sector. From its headquarters in Madrid, it has internationalized its operations, with a presence in Algeria, Morocco, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Panama, Peru, Holland, Belgium, Great Britain, Italy and Portugal, from where it markets its products to the rest of the world.

Their need

To transfer files between its different servers, CEPSA used a tool developed internally by its own technicians. However, this solution made it difficult to meet the levels required by the IT Department for the management, reliability, security and speed of the process.

In addition, it required high-cost maintenance in relation to the results obtained, and required the exclusive availability of its developers to configure the planning of new tasks or make changes to the platform.

Faced with this scenario, the company went to the market in search of a solution that could effectively meet its needs.

Our solution

With the help of NexTReT, a Spanish company dedicated to the sale of products and services for IT optimization, and Business Partner of Fortra, CEPSA learned about the functionalities and benefits of the GoAnywhere MFT tool for file transfer management.

The joint work of NexTReT and Fortra allowed CEPSA to implement the product quickly, as well as guarantee its 24×7 maintenance, consulting and support services.

In addition to having a simple and friendly graphical interface, GoAnywhere MFT is compatible with the rest of the applications that CEPSA had in operation through the API for connections with third-party applications (such as ERP and CRM).

Results

With the implementation of GoAnywhere MFT, and thanks to the immediate training of CEPSA professionals, the company now has the possibility to configure a new file transfer in just minutes, and to find out quickly and easily if errors occur during its execution.

At the same time, they can keep a historical record of all transfers made, to review what happened in case of problems, and through the reporting functionality, obtain a record of all activity for compliance with regulations.

The company can now manage the tool and automate its transfers, without the need to write a single line of code and without relying on its programming experts to keep them up-to-date, as was the case before.
